Fruits & Vegetables
Fruits and Vegetables are easy to prepare and practical to serve. They are a major source of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Fresh, frozen or canned are all creditable fruit choices along with 100% juice.
- At breakfast, a serving of fruit or vegetable or 100% juice is required
- At lunch and supper you must serve 1 fruit and 1 vegetable. You can substitute the fruit with another vegetable as long as it is a different vegetable.
- Juice is limited to no more than once per day and juice is not creditable for infants under 1 year.
